Hollywood Great Candy Clark Returns to Fort Worth
to Celebrate 40th Anniversary of American Graffiti
UPDATE, 10-25-13: Actress and graduate from
Fort Worth Technical, Candy Clark returned to her Alma
Mater for the first time since graduating in 1965! She
talked with a full student assembly about how she achieved
her fame--hard work, dedication, and life-long learning.
When asked what drove her to achieve, Candy replied, "I
had to get out of poverty."
We saw clips of
some of her movies, and it turns out that Candy was quite
a "screamer" on some of them! We saw clips from "American
Graffiti," "Criminal Minds," "The Blob," and "The Man Who
Fell to Earth."
There was also a surprise
appearance from Channel 4 news reporter Dionne Anglin who
also graduated from Trimble Tech in the 1980s.
What a wonderful way to start this year's Distinguished
Lecture Series! And we hope you come out to the "All Day
Candy" Festival and Car Show on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10
a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of Trimble Tech High School.
