We departed 7:30ish on
Friday morning, driving in rain all the way to
Houston; definitely not the weather you desire for a
travel day to a car show, especially after days of
cleaning and detailing
1st priority was the NCCC display - a special thanks to
SJCC for providing us space at the end of their Club
display area
Next came re-cleaning, re-detailing and setting up the
display items for our Grand Sport
Doug & Glenda working the NCCC booth at
the show
with help from several SJCC members.
Vette Vues(Bill Wolf) from Florida was the
promoter this year. The auto judges were also
flown in from Florida; and only 2 entries received
perfect scores of 100.
The
show had lots of vendors and sponsors (new & used)
along a sales coral to sell your ride. The final
event prior to the awards was the
Bikini contest
(Swimsuit model search) where two SJCC members and
myself were
among the judges.
After a perfect score from the first judge, a second
judge is brought in where he found a small blemish on
the front lower valance using a flashlight; that cost us
the two points and first place. Our score was of 98 out
of a possible 100 - 1st place won with 99 points.
